I know, not the most aesthetically-pleasing picture...blame Snapchat. This is some small restaurant my family and I visited in some corner of Sausalito (SF). It's small but extremely crowded! But the food was worth this blog post. A traditional pizza (with the best onions, no joke), decent fries and amazing ice tea. I'm annoyed with myself because I can't remember the name of this place. I know where it is so if I ever go there again, I'll update you all. Go here for the food, the San Francisco hustle and bustle and for the frequent Middle-Eastern guys that walk in.
This is no ordinary cone of ice-cream. It's made from liquid Nitrogen! Smitten in Los Altos makes natural ice-cream with a bunch of their cool gadgets. If you're not in to ice-cream, just go to watch how they make it. The flavor I got was Fresh Mint Chip which translates to Mint Chocolate Chip, so I got all excited. First two licks were a flurry of flavors but then I dreaded to finish the rest because guess what...the mint was actually fresh mint! (Obviously) So the flavor of something that strong made me temporarily dislike the herb. My parents however, got a Brown Sugar with Cinnamon Shortbread and it was really good! Parents are wise for a reason.
I got inspired by the delicious smoothie bowls made by @marissabronfman I made one for dinner because I was too bored to eat anything else. Ingredients: Kale, strawberries, blueberries, peaches, bananas, pomegranate, soy milk, flax seed, cayenne pepper, walnuts & almonds. Toppings were ingredients that were blended in the smoothie as well. Try it out!
So while we're on the topic of desserts, here are some macarons I got from Cako (Valley Fair). Off the top of my head the flavors were: Rose, Red Velvet, Mango, Salted Caramel & Passionfruit (I think). I personally loved the Rose and Mango plus they looked the cutest. The others were a tad too sweet for my liking but still not too bad. Choices were limited the day I went but I couldn't walk by without buying some :)
